Winnipeg Public Library staff can guide you to books and other resources to help you trace your ancestors, but due to the large number of genealogy questions we receive, we cannot do research on your behalf.
- If you have a question about an individual we will attempt to provide an answer as staff time allows.
- Please limit your search to one surname. Give the full name of the person, probable time frame plus any other useful clues you have.
- We will search ten years of directories.
- Library staff will make photocopies for you upon request and will advise you in advance of any fees. An invoice will be sent with the materials.
If you wish to submit your genealogy question to the library, please use our Ask Us form and send us your question with as much detail as possible.
