Our apologies. This is a known problem when using the Safari browser an iPad and visiting our Library Catalogue page. Our engineering team is working on a fix, but in the meantime, here are some solutions to help you get around this issue.

Summary of the problem:

On your iPad, when you visit our main library catalogue ( in your iPad's Safari browser and tap either the "Log In" or "My Account" links, the pop-up box where you're supposed to enter your library card and PIN "flies away" when you start to type on the keyboard:

One Solution: 

With the keyboard still open, scroll back up to the top of the page and tap "Log In" or "My Account" again. The login box will reappear and this time the cursor will be in the first text-entry box already. You should now be able to type your barcode and PIN without losing the text entry box.

Note: the onscreen keyboard must be open when you tap "Log In" or "My Account" for this to work. If the keyboard goes away, you may need to repeat your steps from the beginning (including having the login box fly away).

Another Solution:

The problems noted here only occur when using the Safari browser on your iPad. Other browsers, such as the Chrome browser for iPad, allow you to use our catalogue with no apparent glitches. If possible, try installing and using an alternate browser.
