Answer

National Building Code

The National Building Code of Canada focuses on the construction and design of new buildings as well as the renovation of existing buildings. It is developed by the National Research Council of Canada.

Manitoba Building Code

Manitoba has adopted the 2010 National Building Code, through a regulation (M.R. 31/2011) of The Buildings and Mobile Homes Act.

Manitoba has not adopted the 2015 National Building Code.

It is important to look at both the National Building Code (2010) and the regulations of The Buildings and Mobile Homes Act as they may need to be cross-referenced, depending on what you need to know.

Note: As of May, 2021, amendments made to the 2010 National Building Code of Canada on or after December 1, 2012 have not been adopted in Manitoba.
