Printing/photocopying machines are available in all branches of the Winnipeg Public Library. You can use these machines to:

  • print files from one of our public Internet workstations
  • make photocopies of a printed document or file
  • scan a copy of a printed document or file and send it to yourself by email

Printing & photocopying: options and costs

  • Options available:
    • Format: single- or double-sided
    • Output: black & white or colour
    • Page size: 8.5x11 (letter), 8.5x14 (legal), 11x17 (ledger)
  • Costs are:
    • $0.25 / page for black and white
    • $0.90 / page for colour
    • Cost per page is per impression, not per sheet of paper, so, for example, a double-sided, black and white page will cost $0.50
    • There is no cost difference on page sizes
  • In order to pay for printing or copying, you must use coins using the coin-operated box attached to the photocopier; payment can not be made with bills or credit cards at this time

Scan-to-email

  • Photocopiers at all locations have a Scan to Email feature which allows you to scan documents and email them as an attachment.  The file will be in PDF format. 
  • You must have a valid recipient email address for this service to work.
  • There is no cost for the Scan to Email service.

Book Scanner

  • The Local History Room on the fourth floor of the Millennium Library has a book scanner.  This machine scans in colour. You will need to bring a USB drive to save your scans. There is no cost.

Faxing

  • Local faxing of a few pages is free at all branches. Ask staff for assistance.
  • You may have to wait for a staff person to be available to send your fax.
  • Please note that we cannot guarantee receipt of the fax by the receiver.
  • We cannot send long-distance faxes. Faxes to toll-free numbers are acceptable.
  • We cannot accept incoming faxes.
