What is a Smartlocker?
The Smartlocker is a new locker system that allows customers the flexibility to pick up holds from a locker instead of from within the library. Customers can pick up their holds even when the library is closed!
What branches have Smartlockers?
We currently have three Smartlockers:
West End Library, in the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex
Osborne Library, in the Fort Rouge Leisure Centre
Millennium Library, in the 2nd floor skywalk
How do I send my holds to a Smartlocker?
Choose the West End, Osborne or Millennium Smartlocker as your pickup location when placing holds.
How do I collect my library materials from the Smartlocker?
Once you’ve been notified your holds are ready, head to the Smartlocker and follow these steps:
- Press Collect items.
- Scan your library by placing it BARCODE UP in the niche below the screen. If you do not have your library card with you, press Keyboard and enter your barcode numbers. Press OK.
- Enter your PIN (the last four digits in your telephone number) into the Password box. Press OK.
- A list of your waiting holds will be displayed. You can choose to collect some of them or to collect them all. Tap on the titles you want to pick up, then press Open selected or Open all. The locker(s) will open and you will be able to remove your items. Please close the door after you have finished. Press Finish.
- Please take the receipt from below the screen.
