Electronic resources (also referred to as databases, premium resources, subscription resources or online resources) are online tools and services that the Library pays an annual subscription for, allowing you to access resources for free with your library card.

The tools and services that you find in this guide are not available for free on the internet; you can't search Google and find the kinds of research and magazine articles that you can find in EBSCOhost or World Book, and if you want to use tools like Ancestry.ca, lynda.com or consumerreports.org, you need to pay for a membership.

With Winnipeg Public Library's subscriptions, though, you don't need to pay - you just log in with your library card!
