When applying for a library card, you can select which notification method you prefer: telephone or email. Keep this up to date at all times! You are still responsible for holds and overdue fines if the library cannot contact you.

Telephone Notification

  • If you choose this option, you will be notified by our automated telephone messaging system (TeleMessaging) about overdue items and requests waiting for pick-up
  • You will receive a printed bill in the mail if you have an unpaid balance that reaches $25

Please note: Our telephone messaging system (TeleMessaging ;Télémessagerie) does not work with some types of answering machines and cell phones.

Email Notification

  • If you choose this option, you will be notified by email about overdue items and requests waiting for pick up
  • If you have an unpaid balance of $25 or more, you will receive a bill via email
  • If you choose email notification, you will also receive a courtesy email notice reminding you of the due dates of items BEFORE they are due
